SimpliRED D-dimer

Method

Carrying out the SimpliRED D-dimer test is fast, simple and can be performed at the point of care.

Each SimpliRED test kit contains:

  • Test reagent 1 x 1 ml
  • Positive control 1 x 0.6 ml
  • Negative control 1 x 1 ml
  • 40 Agglutination trays
  • 40 Stirrers

Procedure:

  • Add 10 µL of whole blood to both wells of an agglutination tray
  • Add one drop of negative control to the negative control well
    marked ‘-’
  • Add one drop of test reagent to the test well marked ‘TEST’
  • Mix each well thoroughly
  • Rock for 2 minutes
  • Read result

Interpretation

The result is positive if agglutination of the red blood cells is visible in the test well when compared to the negative control well.

The result is negative if no agglutination of the red cells is visible in the test well when compared to the negative control well.

To confirm the correct functioning of the reagents, a drop of positive control added to the test well of a negative test must produce visible agglutination after 15 seconds.

With SimpliRED D-dimer, a simple yes (positive) or no (negative) result is sufficient. A quantified D-dimer result is not necessary.

A sample shows a positive reaction when an agglutination reaction occurs in comparison with the negative control. The negative control should show no signs of agglutination.
